I remember the moment it happened: Standing in the darkroom and seeing my first print come up in the developer. It was magic, and I was hopelessly addicted to the unlikely pairing of science and art that is photography.

I discovered early on that I am given to portraiture, in a broader sense of the word. Portraits both formal and informal, of people, of places, composite projects which flesh out the essence of a thing through a collection of varied images, snapshots, etc. It is creative non-fiction, but I do it with a camera.

For me, photography is about conveying a sense of knowing, a sense of being there, an idea that the place and time are inclusive and somehow reach out to the viewer, however unlikely that moment might be.

At present, I am based in New York City, Brooklyn to be precise. My work still focuses on portrait & travelogue, but I find myself more and more interested in interiors, as well. I am currently accepting freelance assignments and private commissions.
